Cold outreach is not dead, it is just badly written
A teardown of nine real prospecting messages and the two lines that moved reply rates.

Most cold emails fail in the first two lines. Not because outreach is obsolete, but because the opening assumes interest instead of earning it.
After reviewing nine recent prospecting messages, the patterns were consistent: long introductions, vague value propositions, and calls to action that asked for too much too soon.
The messages that received replies shared two traits: a specific observation about the recipient's work, and a single low-friction next step.
