Klugekopf TechBridge Spotlight: Iveren Cheku

Starting From Scratch and Building With Excellence

Some people enter tech with a clear path.

Iveren Cheku entered with a need.

A need for freedom.

A need for flexibility.

A need for a skill that could move with her.

Who She Is

Iveren is a Social Media Manager for Klugekopf TechBridge.

Where It Started

Her journey into tech began during an ASUU strike while she was a student in a Nigerian university.

At the time, she lived on campus and made clothes for students.

But when the strike stretched for months, students left.

Customers disappeared.

Income stopped.

That moment forced a realization:

She needed a skill that was not tied to one location, one campus, or one offline environment.

That was the beginning.

The Real Challenge

The biggest hurdle was simple:

She was starting from zero.

No tech background.

No prior knowledge.

Even learning how to use a computer was part of the journey.

But she kept going.

How TechBridge Became Part of Her Story

She discovered Klugekopf TechBridge through a Facebook post.

What made her connect with the mission was personal.

She had once needed a platform like this herself.

So when she saw a community helping young women start in tech, it aligned with her convictions.

What She Does in the Community

Iveren contributes through:

program planning

strategy

content development

content creation

Her work helps shape how the community communicates, grows, and supports learners.

A Shift in Perspective

Since joining TechBridge, her view of tech has changed.

She now sees that success in tech is not just about individual skill.

It is also about community.

The right people around you can change how far and how fast you grow.

The Most Rewarding Part

For Iveren, the most rewarding part has been seeing women:

gain confidence

access opportunities

realize they belong in tech

That transformation is the real impact.

What Keeps Her Going

She knows tech can feel difficult at first.

But she also knows it is learnable.

And more importantly, she believes women can take up space and lead in the industry.

That belief keeps her committed.

Defining Success

For Iveren, success in the digital economy means:

Solving waiting problems.

Not just talking about change.

But creating practical solutions where they are needed.

Advice She Stands By

Her advice is direct:

Don’t be stingy with your knowledge. Pass it down.”

That is how communities grow.

The Legacy She Wants to Leave

Iveren wants to be proof that you can start from nothing and still build something meaningful.

With determination, discipline, and consistency, nothing stays empty forever.

Tools, Skills & Focus

Go-to tool: Canva

Most important skill: Communication

Primary focus: Social media and community management

Because strong communication is what turns ideas into movement.

AI vs Web3

For Iveren, AI stands out.

Not because it is trendy, but because it is already entering every sector, including Web3.

Her Guiding Principle

Put your heart into all you do, not because of what you stand to gain, but because your mark should always be identified as excellent.”

That is the standard she works by.

Final Thought

Starting from scratch is not a weakness.

Sometimes, it becomes the clearest proof of growth.

Iveren’s story is a reminder that excellence is built through discipline, service, and the decision to keep learning even when the beginning feels unfamiliar.
